As we approach the end of the year, and the busy holiday season, I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know about some upcoming events and post our holiday schedule, so that you can plan accordingly. I have handouts in the school with this information as well, but thanks to the marvels of modern science and the support of Century Links Social Media Launchpad, we will hopefully be able to make sure that everyone gets this information.
First off, we will not have regular classes on Monday October 31st with the exception of the morning kickboxing class, as we are participating in the Twin Peaks Plaza Boo Bash. Come on out and enjoy the entertainment, trunk-or-treating, bands and the demo that we will be putting on.
The morning kickboxing class will be moving to 11:00 AM beginning October 31st as well; we hope this will be more convenient for those who attend and will make our schedule more consistent.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, our November belt pretest will be on November 11th and the graduation will be on November 18th. There will not be a belt test in December, normal testing schedule will begin again in January.
The week of Thanksgiving, we will be open Monday through Wednesday, so that you may enjoy your holiday, and the following week, our schedule will be the same (Monday through Wednesday) as well due to the Black Belt test in Albuquerque. We have six candidates going this time, and we are very excited for all of them.
Over Christmas break we will be open until Thursday, December 22nd and then we will be closed until Monday, January 2nd, so that we may all spend time with our families.
As we look into the next year, we are trying to schedule a local Tournament in February, which it looks like our own school will be able to host. Following that will be the annual Academy Awards Tournament and Banquet to be held in Albuquerque on March 24th. This is a really exciting and fun event that we hope all can attend.
Despite how busy our schedules get at the end of the year, we hope you all have a safe and joyous holiday season, however you may celebrate it, and we look forward to continuing to help you meet your Martial Arts goals in the coming year!
